The performance of your computer can make or unmake your day. Get a new computer and experience a stress-free use, but as soon as your computer gets a few years under its belt, it is bound to slow down. This marked slowdown comes with age and with the accumulation of unwanted programs. When it happens, you have to make sure that all the right steps are taken. It’s easy to find the right fix. Slow computer or a poorly performing computer can be readily addressed by taking in the suggestions of most techie people and technical support representatives out there.
Listed here are some of the steps that can offer you the fix slow computer should undergo a defragging. You can use the defragmentation tool that is on your computer. Why use defragging as a way to fix slow computer? Just remember that the hard drive of the computer has hundreds of sectors and these are then broken into clusters and more allocations. And when the computer used the files and accessed, these files are often not returned to their respective sectors and allocations. With that, the hard drive gets ‘fragmented’. You can use this tool by clicking on the Start bar and by selecting Programs. Check Accessories, System Tools and finally select the Defragmentation Tool. Using this tool may not bring about change in seconds since it takes several hours to properly defrag the computer’s hard drive. But the time you spent waiting will be all worth it since the resulting gain will be a speedier computer.
To fix slow computers you need also to use the registry programs in order to fix programs. Registry is the term that is used to refer to the database that contains all the settings and the options for the 32 bit versions of many Microsoft Windows operating systems. Whatever changes you made on the file associations, system policies or the Control Panel systems, these will then be reflected on the computer’s registry. When a registry error occur then the files or the data will no longer be accessible. If two or more registry errors happen, then a registry fix is suggested. This kind of fix will get the data back and can be made accessible. And this can also allow the computer to respond in a faster manner as well.
A slow computer is also a function of the memory available on the computer. So if you want to improve the overall speed of the pc, then adding more RAM can do the trick. Increasing the available RAM or the random access memory is an important investment that you can make on your computer. If browsing some internet sites is the problem, then you need to access the Internet Tools on the browser that you are using. Just clear the Internet cache and the temporary internet files and make sure that you delete the files. Scan for viruses as well and for Trojans. Most of the time, viruses are the ones that help slows down the computer. Knowing these important steps will help you understand a slow computer and allows you to fix slow computer.

If you are experiencing slow computer issues, do you know that you can troubleshoot the issues yourself? Here are some tips on fixing a slow computer quickly and easily to resolve your computer issues:
• Start with the hardware itself. Your computer may be running slow due to unnecessary files that are saved and occupy large amount of disk space. In fixing a slow computer due to unnecessary files, follow these easy steps:
1. Click Start. Go to all programs. Go to Accessories. From Accessories, Click System Tools. From System Tools, click Disk Cleanup. Tick all the boxes that appear, and then confirm the operation by hitting yes. This shall take out all the unnecessary files in your computer.
Start>All programs>Accessories>System Tools>Disk Cleanup
• Defragmenting your hard drive will also result to a faster computer experience, and will prevent computer crash. Here is how to defragment your hard drive:
2. Click Start. Go to all programs. Go to Accessories. From Accessories, Click System Tools. From System Tools, click Disk Defragmenter. Once you have enabled the disk defragmenter, it shall analyze your hard drive and perform the necessary operation.
Start>All programs>Accessories>System Tools>Disk Defragmenter
• After your cleaning your hard drive, go to your anti-virus program to make sure that your computer is not infected. Slow connectivity is a symptom of virus infection. Fixing a slow computer will require that you have an updated and latest virus definitions or program installed in your system.
• Spyware programs have also the ability to slow your computer. An updated spyware program is necessary in fixing a slow computer. It is prudent that you have an anti-spyware installed as spyware hide in the background so it’s quite difficult to determine if your computer is infected. There are several spyware programs that you can download from the internet.
• In fixing a slow computer, it is too frequent that the main culprit is a corrupt registry or registry errors. The registry is the heart and brain of your computer. Whatever you do, like when you open a file or starts any program application, your computer has to communicate to the registry to pull them up. You will have to repair your registry errors to bring back the speed of your computer. There are several registry repair or fix programs that you can find and download from the internet. Most are easy to use with friendly interfaces. Find one that will work best for your needs.
If the above doesn’t resolve your concerns in fixing a slow computer, then you may have to unload your computer with some program applications, or if this is not a viable option, you may want to upgrade the physical memory of your computer. But this should only be a last recourse, after the tips mentioned above.
90-95% of computer issues are usually resolved just by cleaning and tuning up you’re the hard drive of your computer as well as fixing and optimizing the registry. It’s a good thing that the internet will make it easier for you to find good software program for this purpose.

If you have slow computer startup problems, don’t worry – you are not alone. Most people experience a significant slowdown in the way their computers start up and close down. Considering the way people live in the fast-paced world of today, it can get really frustrating and annoying to wait for several minutes before your computer finally finishes loading and allows you to get things done. While it may sound unbelievable, especially to people who claim to be technologically challenged, fixing your computer’s speed can be easy, not to mention cheap.
Some people immediately turn to the Internet and look for solutions that can improve their computer’s seemingly ailing speed. By doing this, you might end up spending big bucks on products that do not actually work. Before you waste your time, try this reliable technique for speeding up your computer: clean your registry. You can do this task by yourself, which means you don’t have to pay any amount of money for supervision by experts just to solve your slow computer startup problems.
Your computer registry is essentially one big repository of information. It is a database of your computer’s configuration. In a sense, your computer registry is your computer system’s brain or command center – it processes every command you give your computer, from finding a file to installing an application. As you continue to use your computer, creating files and adding software here and there, your computer registry grows in size and, without proper handling and maintenance, can turn into a gigantic mess. This, in turn, can lead to your computer’s degradation in terms of speed performance. This is probably the reason why your computer is suffering from slow computer startup now.
Most people have this notion that as long as they regularly delete the files they no longer need or use, their computer registry will become less cramped and stay in good condition. The sad truth is that when you delete a program, the file will be gone in the place where you saved it but not from the system itself. This means you’re not really making any new space but are in fact only causing confusion and slow computer startup.
Apart from having too many files, your computer might also be suffering from the presence of malware and spyware. Malware is any software that wreaks havoc on your computer, including the famous adware, which manifests itself in the form of irritating pop-ups that show up every few minutes – or seconds – on your screen. Spyware, on the other hand, is a virus that works to extract sensitive information about your Internet-related activities and leaks this information to strangers. Spyware also causes programs and applications to deteriorate and even invades and changes your settings.
These problems are the major reasons for your slow computer startup problems. Without diligence, files could accumulate in huge numbers very fast. Without vigilance, dangerous elements could be lurking in your system, creating irreparable damage. Reliable registry cleaner software is just the tool you need to help you achieve your goal, and you can find a lot of free software online.

Because computers are only made by humans, it is expected that some problems can occur upon their usage. After all, humans are known to be prone to error and their products inherit this trait. Most people encounter problems with the way their computers work overtime. After a while, computers tend to run slow. In fact, my computer is running too slow and I have taken to research what I can do to solve this problem. If you are facing the same dilemma, then read on and find out what I have learned.
There are many ways with which you can speed up your computer. The first thing you need to do is to accept that there is a problem and that it can be solved. When I first noticed that my computer is running too slow, I waved it away and chalked it up to my computer’s age. Although the struggling speed bothered me, I continued to ignore it until a friend called my attention and told me there are things I could actually do to quicken my computer’s processing capabilities.
That was when I got unsolicited but very good advice. I learned that to speed up my computer, I had to uninstall or remove programs that are unnecessary or unused. If you don’t know how to do this, just visit your computer’s control panel and use the add/remove program you can find in that section. If you’re thinking, “My computer is running too slow,” this simple, free task should do the trick, coupled with cleaning out your computer’s trash bins. Believe me, many people (I used to be one of them) tend to take their trash bins for granted, not knowing that emptying them is one of the easiest ways to speed up a slow computer. Check out your trash bins and keep them from becoming full or even halfway full to maintain your computer’s good speed.
When I acknowledged the fact that my computer is running too slow, I looked for relevant articles on the web. One of the most common tips I came across with was to remove any form of malware, as well as spyware, on my computer. Malware is the most frequent reason why computers slow down; this dangerous software can wreak havoc on your computer and cause stubborn or, worse, permanent damage. Spyware, on the other hand, can put your identity and safety at risk and leak sensitive data from your computer to third parties. There are tried and tested solutions you can employ to remove malware and spyware from your computer, including downloading and installing free programs such as Spybot Search and Destroy and Lavasoft. However, be wary of the free programs you find online. Some are only made up of advertising baloney and do not really work or are also made up of dangerous software.
Most people think that it takes a lot of money to repair and improve their computer’s speed. That’s what I thought too when I first realized that my computer is running too slow. Now, I know better, thanks to the free tips I just shared with you.

Personal computers are great add-ons to any home offices as these office equipments help speed up the work and many office tasks. But there will be times wherein these office equipments can be the source of delays in production. This will usually happen when the computer starts to slow down and it starts to become a liability instead of an asset. But why do computers slow down and what are the causes of slow computer?
Computer experts often list many causes of slow computer. The traditional causes of the slowing down of the computer include files that are disorganized on the computer, often unwanted and those un-important programs and software within the computer causes problems on the computer as well. If you think that unused network drives do no harm to your personal computer, well think again. These things make your computer suffer. And if there are a number of programs that run at start-up like a messenger system, then remember that these programs are party to the issues experienced by the slow computer.
Now that the causes of slow computer have been identified, then the next logical step is to address these issues. First up is to identify the programs that aren’t and are rarely used. Check as well the programs that start automatically and if these programs never used or used rarely then these programs should be deleted from the system. Often these programs are designed to run in the background so that once they are used, they will seem to start up quickly. Well these programs may not obviously slow down your personal computer but these programs can steal some memory from your personal computer.
Managing programs that run every time the pc is started cane be done by using the System Configuration Tool that is included on all Windows XP installations. The System Configuration Tool can be started by clicking on the Start button, clicking on Run and by typing “Msconfig” on the space provided and by pressing Enter. When you check the Startup tab, there you will see the many programs and the software that runs every time your slow pc runs and loads. Delete the ones that you rarely use or you don’t need and click on Apply. To implement the effect, you need to re-start the computer. If the temporary files are loaded then this could be one of the causes of slow computer as well. So make sure that you clean up the Internet temporary files.
Aside from these recommended steps, there are others ways out there in order to speed up a slow computer and undo the many causes of slow computer. Another way is to run a defrag on the computer’s hard drive. Just make sure that the drive is not compressed. Cleaning up the disk can be done by clicking on Start, then the All Programs/Accessories and by selecting the System Tools. When you’re there select the Disk Clean-up option. And just to make sure that there will be no more issues, make sure that you add more memory.

What is probably the most common complaint of computer users? I am quite sure that we have all experienced this at one time or another and we »»

What is probably the most common complaint of computer users? I am quite sure that we have all experienced this at one time or another and we often found ourselves cursing for not knowing what was the cause of the slowing down. That’s right. Perhaps the most common computer problem that we encounter is a slow booting computer. But the good thing is there are a few simple things that we can first try by ourselves to solve this problem.
Most computer users seldom check their machines for errors. Disk errors or bad sectors to be exact. Unless you’re a computer technician, you are probably just like me, someone who does not properly and regularly conducts system checks. Sometimes this simple tool or action is all that is needed to fix a slow booting computer.
I once suspected that the cause of a specific computer problem that I was experiencing was due to some disk errors on my hard disk. I conducted a disk error check and within minutes, it showed and fixed the disk errors. This actually fixed my slow booting computer. But only for a time because after just a couple of months, my computer was again slowing down.
A friend suggested that I should check how many computer programs were set to open and run during start up. He said these programs use a considerable amount of system’s resources and can therefore contribute to my slow booting computer performance. I found a few programs that behaved exactly like what my friend described, including a second anti virus program that I was using. I admit I was afraid my computer might catch a virus so I installed two anti virus software. My friend told me to remove one of the anti virus programs. When I did, it actually improved my slow booting computer.
But still it wasn’t enough. My friend then told me to check if there were any computer programs that I was no longer using but were still installed on my machine. I checked my softwares and indeed found about four programs that I no longer needed. This was a graphic editor, a video editor, a game I used to play and a presentation software. I uninstalled these programs and it did contribute considerably to the improvement of my computer.
The last thing my friend suggested was that I use a registry cleaner. He said the registry is just like a directory of all the computer programs that I use. Whenever I install or open a program or other files, the directory expands which can then cause a computer to slow down. I ran a registry cleaner and after it performed it tasks, I noticed that my slow booting computer did start to show great signs of improvement.
In my experience, although there might be a single solution for a slow booting computer out there, but the thing is you can first try the processes that I mentioned here. More often than not, one of these suggestions will fix your computer or at least improve its performance.

With the number of websites offering information on how to fix computer problems, it’s easy to conclude that many people are searching for information on how to make their computer keep its top speed performance. Indeed, many people are complaining that their computer starts slow. There could be several reasons for this problem and, thankfully, there are also several solutions. All you need to do is to perform the necessary operations and your computer will be back in good shape.
When people say that their computer starts slow, their frustration can hardly be hidden. In today’s world where everyone moves quickly and everything needs to be done pronto, it really can get quite frustrating to wait for the computer to start up and finally get things going. This is especially so when a computer has been around for a long time and its owner has failed to perform any maintenance work on it. If you’re guilty of this, then this article is for you. Keep reading to learn how to fix your computer’s problems.
One of the very first things you should do when you notice that your computer starts slow is to defrag it. Defragmentation is a process that often leaves computer owners hesitant; they question their capacity to do such a thing. If you think you’re technologically challenged, there’s no need to fret at all. You can defrag your computer in a jiffy and with no help from experts or software packages. The process is quite easy – as long as you can follow directions. What you need to do is to go to Start and click on Accessories. From there, click on Tools and that’s where you’ll find the options for defragging your computer, such as Disk Defragmentation and others.
If you are wondering what defragmentation does and why it’s so important in solving your computer’s speed problem: When your computer starts slow, it means your computer system is having difficulty in organizing its contents or files. When you finally decide to defrag your computer, the amount of fragmentation in your computer’s file systems is greatly reduced. As a consequence, the content of the disk becomes more organized and the space more free. Because of the absence of clutter, your computer can then work faster again and you won’t have to get frustrated over having to wait for it to start. Experts say that defragging your computer is the easiest way to solve your computer’s speed problems; it’s the number one computer startup solution.
People usually panic when their computer starts slow. They either think that there computer has been bugged by a serious virus and can no longer be saved or that they should buy the latest software package for computer cleanup and repair right away. While it can get stressful worrying about why your computer starts slow, there is something you can do about it that doesn’t require a great deal of money and effort.

If your answer is yes, then you are probably one of the many computer owners out there who have or do not perform maintenance works on their PC. Computers, like the humans who have built them, are prone to error. Through time, a computer’s performance will gradually slow down, but with the proper care and maintenance, a computer’s life will remain robust and healthy. Many PC users take maintenance tips for granted, not knowing that these are the very things that can solve their computer’s speed problems.
Maintenance tips can keep your computer perform smoothly so you won’t have to wonder why is your computer very slow. Your computer is exposed to a number of harsh elements on a regular basis, including heat, dust, and moisture – all of which can cause its deterioration and make your computer very slow. The first thing you need to be mindful of is the way you turn off and turn on your computer. You should turn off your computer only after Windows has properly shut down; otherwise, you’ll cause adverse effects to your hard drive. When you turn on your computer, avoid entering commands until Windows has fully started up; otherwise, you’ll cause your computer to slow down.
In connection with power, it is strongly suggested that you protect your computer from critical power outages and high and low voltage occurrences by using an uninterruptible power supply or UPS. A UPS functions better than a surge protector; it will help your computer hurdle through power disasters of any kind and keep it away from crashes that can turn a computer very slow. Loss or cutting of power may lead to the loss of important data or the impossible recovery of files. Another way to protect yourself from these unfortunate events is by performing back up every time. Most homes have UPS; you just need to search your house for one that you can use.
One of the most common reasons that make a computer very slow is the presence of viruses, malware, and spyware, which are all mortal enemies of your computer system. It is thus very important that you scan your computer for these harmful elements on a regular basis and defrag your computer once in a while. Run a free yet tried and tested anti-virus, anti-malware, and anti-spyware removal software package. Keeping your registry clean all the time is one of the secrets in maintaining your computer’s good speed. Since your registry functions as the main command processor of the entire computer system, it only follows that it will suffer from performance problems when it becomes too cramped or full. Use a free reliable registry cleanup software package to get your registry organized once again and to free up space on your memory. Not only can lack of memory space make a computer very slow, it also causes runtime errors.
Doing maintenance work on your computer is easier than most PC users think. Moreover, it’s the best and cheapest way to prevent your computer from running very slow.

Having a slow computer can really cause someone terrible stress in this age of technological dependence. There are so many things that can only be accomplished through the services of a computer that works at high speed, including the fast completion of important office documents or school assignments, Internet-based research, and other use of computer programs and applications. If you have a computer that runs painfully slow, it’s understandable why you should feel frustrated. Thus, having your computer repaired as soon as possible is essential.
However, having your computer professionally fixed can be costly – and you can end up feeling even more frustrated with the huge amount you need to shell out just to have your computer running fast again. The good news is that you can fix your slow computer totally free of charge today, all on your own and without expensive assistance. All you have to do is read on.
One of the prime suspects in the presence of speed problems in a computer is chaos in the registry. The registry acts as the thinking tool of the computer, which means that it houses all the files that a computer has and organizes these files in order to make the computer meet the requests or commands of the user. If your registry is full to the brim, your computer would most definitely have difficulty managing the files efficiently and quickly. In order to solve slow computer problems, it is important that you keep your registry properly fixed using a tried and tested registry cleaner program or software.
Aside from the use of a proven program or software to clean out your registry, you also need to check other parts of your computer that also house files, particularly your recycling bin and your temporary files folder. It is a common misconception among users that once they delete a file, said file immediately gets removed from their computer system. On the contrary, the file is only transferred to another area, which is nowhere else than the recycling bin. The presence of too many files slows down a computer’s performance, so it is a must that the recycling bin be emptied not just once but on a regular basis. Meanwhile, the temporary files folder houses the Internet browser’s history and cache. Just like the recycling bin, the temporary files folder can get full if left ignored. Emptying it every now and then can reduce incidents of slow computer problems.
Computer files can really wreak havoc on a computer system. Sometimes, files wander around the hard drive and hide themselves in random folders where they do not belong. In order to solve this particular problem and deal away with a slow computer, performing def ragging on the hard drive is vital. A simple but thorough def ragging arranges your files and puts them in their proper locations. Defragmentation is actually one of the most basic things that a user should do to ensure top-speed performance of his or her computer.
You don’t need to spend a fortune on computer repairs if you have a slow computer. With a few tricks up your sleeve, like the ones you just read, you can solve your computer’s speed problems in no time and with no repair expenses.

Computers are man-made machines. Because man is prone to error, it naturally follows that the things he makes also have the tendency to encounter faults in the system. While computers these days are more technologically advanced, they are still not perfect and thus still not free from flaws, including slow computer XP problems. In fact, it is because of the fact that computers are now more complex than ever that they are more likely to experience system errors.
There are many possible reasons why slow computer problems may occur. In general, these problems are attributed to the natural process of aging that even computers, which are non-living things, go through. Thus, with time, wear and tear can cause the gradual deterioration of any computer and the programs that run it, including the globally popular Windows XP. Specifically speaking, however, there are a number of factors that contribute to the wearing and tearing of a Windows XP computer. A slow running computer can be annoying and frustrating, which is why it is of utmost importance that the causes of the slowdown be fixed right away. The good news is, you don’t have to spend anything for computer repairs – you can do them all on your own.
If you have a computer and are experiencing slow computer XP problems, one of the most basic things you should do to is to take a look at your folder for currently existing temporary files. This is the folder that contains your Internet browser’s history and cache, that part of a computer where websites or web pages are each stored as individual files. When your temporary files folder gets full, your computer encounters difficulty in organizing the files it holds. It is vital to the recovery of your computer that said folder be emptied as soon as possible, and this should be observed on a regular basis – just as you should do with your recycling bin. Remember, just because you delete a file – a program or an application – doesn’t mean it’s no longer in your computer system; it is only actually transferred into the recycling bin. To permanently get rid of unwanted and unnecessary files that can cause slow computer XP problems, empty your recycling bin regularly.
Another area of your computer that you should check to solve your slow computer XP problems is your start-up menu. There are programs that, when installed into a computer system, have the ability to be run directly upon start-up. This option is in fact present in most programs that are being used and developed these days. To help your computer regain its original speed, delete said option of programs so that they won’t have to be run right after you turn on your computer – because this wreaks confusion in your computer system. In line with this, avoid clicking on programs when your computer has just powered up. Wait for your computer to complete its start-up process before opening any programs or typing in further instructions.
These simple tips are enough to remedy your slow computer XP problems with no charge at all. For best results, experts recommend getting software that cleans up the registry in order to keep slowdown troubles at bay for a long, long time.
