The Enhanced Power of Prayer Through Technology

There is no doubt that prayer is powerful. It is the first way that we as Christians communicate with our creator. When many of us band together and pray to God, we can make real changes in this world that we live in. With technology, prayer is mighty and spreads much further than we ever dreamed possible.
Why Praying Is Hard For Some People
Prayer means making yourself totally vulnerable in order to submit yourself to God. Most people like to feel in control of their situations, and it is human nature to want to feel a sense of empowerment through our own actions. Prayer takes away that barrier.
Prayer is bringing everything before a divine God that is in control of everything. However, once you experience the power of prayer, you realize how good it feels and you come to know that prayer makes a huge difference in the lives of many people.
Technology Teaches Us to Pray
Many people, especially new Christians, feel uncomfortable about praying. It is hard to pray when you cannot see God and talk to Him face-to-face, in the flesh. Most Christians understand the concept of faith and believing in what you cannot see, but to begin talking to the air seems unnatural.
It is hit or miss whether a church takes on the assignment of teaching people to pray effectively, and that is where technology plays an important role. Various technologies teach people exactly how to pray, based on the Lord’s Prayer and others. Technology makes it easier for people to research and get answers to their questions about prayer, and encourages us to pray on a regular, daily basis.
Using Technology to Pray for Others
The neat thing about the prayer/technology force is that Jesus tells us in the Bible that if two or more are gathered in His name, he is among us and intercedes on our behalf with God. Technology has made a wonderful way for people to know the needs and requests of others around the world.
The Internet and various software programs based upon prayer have made it possible for Christians to meet together from all over the world and pray for each other on a much grander scale than ever before possible. We can know the needs of our brothers and sisters where we could not possibly know before.
Technology Can Help Veteran Christians
If you are a veteran Christian, then you should know that there is always room for improvement in your prayer life. Are you praying daily, or even multiple times a day? Are you feeling God’s movement in your life and in the lives of your loved ones? If not, then you have a powerful prayer tool in technology.
There are programs that can teach you where your prayer life is falling short, if you feel unfilled. You can gain information on how to pump up your prayer volume, make your prayers more meaningful, and especially learn how to make sure that your prayers line up with the blessings that God wants to give you. Take advantage of the Internet and software programs that teach specifically about prayer. Make a difference today!

Advice on Outsourcing and Information Technology Benefits

Hiring an outside independent contractor to manage some aspect of a company’s computer and data systems is called IT “outsourcing. ” Boston companies do this in order to help externalize the cost of doing business while internalizing and maximizing profits for shareholders and investors. While outsourcing functions of government such as the maintenance of infrastructure, safety and regulation enforcement and even the military has proven to be an unmitigated disaster for the public, large private companies and their clients and cusomers can actually experience substantial benefits by outsourcing and information technology benefits.

Because of governmental misuse of outsourcing over the past seven years, the term has understandably taken on some strongly negative connotations with the general public, leading to some misconceptions about outsourcing and information technology benefits. The fact is that outsourcing information technology can be an excellent way to streamline your company’s operations and cut business costs. In many cases, when it comes to the technological infrastructure of a business, the most effective way to make efficient use of labor and capital as well as the technology itself is by IT outsourcing.

Boston – based companies often have issues with supervision and control that causes management to be hesitant when it comes to outsourcing information technology. In fact, such often time-consuming management chores can seriously eat into the bottom line; one of the great outsourcing and information technology benefits is that the company will no longer have to spend time and resources in this area any longer; the contractor takes care of all supervision, evaluations and other issues that management generally prefers to have under its control. This is true even when the contractor may have an IT engineer on your company’s property to deal with any potential problems with computers, e-mail systems, Internet connections, data storage, severs and any other issues that may come up.

Another aspect of outsourcing boston information technology to keep in mind is the fact that as contractors, these people do not require that you provide pension contributions, paid vacation and health and dental benefits – meaning greater returns for investors and more that can be paid to your valuable top-level people.

Outsourcing and information technology benefits the shareholders and investors, management and the company as a whole. When you have fewer employees to manage and keep track of, you can turn your attention to the more immediate issues that more directly affect the day-to-day operations of your company. Ease of operation, cutting costs, and increasing profitability are the best reasons for outsourcing boston’s corporate IT systems today.

The Truth About Water Purification Technology

Water purification technology has advanced tremendously in the past few years, particularly in the area of home filtration systems. Here’s a brief look at some of the different methods of water purification available today.

Distillation is very old water purification technology, but it is still commonly used. It was first developed, not as one of the methods of water purification, but to create alcohol. In archaeological excavations from Pakistan to South Asia, alcohol distillers have been found. A simple explanation of the process follows.

Liquid is brought to a boil and it vaporizes. The vapor travels through a tube, where it enters another chamber, cools down and once again becomes a liquid. Anything that has a higher boiling point than the liquid or cannot be vaporized in the steam remains in the first pot.

This is one of the methods of water purification that leaves the minerals behind and causes an acid pH. It has been learned that for drinking purposes, de-mineralization and acid pH levels are not healthy.

Advancements in water purification technology have aimed at removing chemical and biological contaminants, without destroying the natural mineral content and pH level.

Reverse osmosis is often touted as the latest in water purification technology, when in fact it has been around for at least 50 years. It was developed for use in industries and large scale treatment facilities. In the 1970s, it became popularized as one of the healthiest methods of water purification for the home.

It was truly a boon to water purification technology, since it can be used to remove salt. In coastal areas and island communities, this is an important and desirable feature. Basically, it works by pressurizing and forcing liquids through a porous membrane. The size of the pores determines what is removed and what travels through.

RO is another of the methods of water purification that de-mineralizes, so not the healthiest for drinking. There are several other disadvantages to the system. It creates wastewater that cannot be used for drinking or other purposes. It operates slowly and requires electrical energy.

Chemical contaminants, such as we face today are not removed. And, additional steps are required to remove bacteria and bacterial cysts. For home purifiers, water purification technology has advanced beyond this method.

In most of our homes, the liquid that flows from our kitchen taps has been through a number of methods of water purification. Treatment facilities vary, but depending on where you live, the methods of water purification used by major facilities include RO, membrane and ultra-filtration, flocculation, UV radiation and, of course, chemical disinfection.

The use of chemicals to kill bacteria and disinfect was, at the turn of the century, a major leap forward in water purification technology.

Before its introduction, there were numerous outbreaks of cholera, typhoid and other diseases relating to bacterial contamination. It appears that what was good for our society in general was bad for the health of the individual.

One of the chemicals most commonly used for disinfection is chlorine. When it is used at the treatment facility, other chemical by-products (THMs) are released. Both, THMs and chlorine, as well as their gases and vapors, have been linked to cancer and a variety of other health problems.

New advancements in water purification technology for the home are aimed at removing those threats. One of the best methods of water purification for this purpose is carbon filtration.

Chemicals and other contaminants stick to the filter, making the output safer to drink. This method also removes odor and improves taste. Most of the newest home purifiers make use of this technology.

This was a brief overview of water purification technology. It would be impossible in an article of this length to cover the subject in its entirety, but hopefully, you are now a little more informed.

Water Purification Technology – a Look at 6 Methods of Water Purification

Let’s face it, there are a lot of elements involved in the latest water purification technology. The methods of water purification have changed over the years. The technology has gotten better and new techniques have evolved. Here, we look at water purification technology, both old and new.

Here are some of the methods of water purification that exist today.

1. Distillation was one of the first methods of water purification, but it still deserves mention. You bring the liquid to a boil, in order to turn it into vapor. It is sent to another container and then allowed to cool. All impurities with a boiling point above 100°C remain in the original container, but any impurities with a boiling point near or below 100°C pass through to the secondary container. So, some chemical contaminants are not removed with this water purification technology.

2. Activated carbon filtration is a water purification technology that removes chemical contaminants by taking out many compounds. When used as home filters sometimes a little silver is added, causing the release of silver ions for an anti bacterial effect. When silver is used, the water purification technology is referred to as GAC or granular activated carbon. Chemicals and other contaminants are trapped on the surface of the filter.

3. Sub micron filtration is one of the better methods of water purification. This can be achieved with either a synthetic membrane or a ceramic one which could be reused up to fifty times with regular cleaning. It offers 100% cyst removal and 99. 99% E Coli removal. Cysts are bacterial contaminants during the spore stage of development when they are particularly resistant to chlorine. Silver is used in this water purification technology, as well, because of its anti bacterial effect.

4. Reverse osmosis is a water purification process where a liquid is pressurized mechanically and run through a semi porous membrane to clean out debris. The disadvantages are that it is slow and wasteful. Also if the membranes are not cleaned often, they develop algae.

5. Electro-deionization is usually one of the methods of water purification, that must be followed by additional steps to provide something safe to drink. This water purification technology involves a system called “ion exchange”. It has no effect on “non-ionic” contaminates, which include microbes, bacteria and cysts.

6. Ultra-filtration is one of the newer methods of water purification. It uses a chemically formed artificial membrane customized to target specific types of micro organisms dependent upon their size.

In order to be complete, a water purification technology must include numerous steps. You may already see why. Some methods of water purification disinfect or kill bacteria, while other methods remove chemical contaminants.

Public treatment facilities usually use chlorine for disinfection. Then, at the point of use, aware citizens will use carbon filtration to remove the chlorine. Thus, today’s water purification technology actually includes the public utilities and the general public. Are you doing your share to help?

New Chip Cooling Technology

According to Moore’s law the density of chips in microprocessors keep doubling every two years. With the increasing density and effectiveness of the current chips the amount of heat generated by these chips is also increasing. To cope with the enormous heat, new technologies will be needed in future to cool the integrated chips that produces much more heat than the current microprocessors. Such a new technology has been developed at Purdue University that uses “microjets” to deposit liquid into tiny channels. This technology is able to remove five times more heat than other experimental high-performance chip-cooling methods.

The conventional computer chips usually generate about 100 watts per square centimeter. The chips are air-cooled with finned metal plates called heat sinks and often a small CPU fan. Most of the liquid-cooling techniques are limited to a cooling capacity of about 200 watts per square centimeter. However the new microjet technology is able to cool chips that generate more than 1,000 watts of heat per square centimeter. With its help new doors in the advancement of chips technology can be opened. This technology is a combination of two cooling methods, the microjets and microchannels, hence called a hybrid system. The microjets cools uniformly because the liquid is supplied in the form of jets everywhere along the length of each channel. It helps to prevent any part of chips from overheating. The coolant is collected at either ends of the channels and is circulated back through the system. The channels in this cooling system is narrower than a millimeter, or thousandth of a meter wide. They are formed on top of a chip and covered with a metal plate. This metallic plate has tiny holes through which the coolant is pumped in microjets, and then the liquid flows along channels to cool the chip. When the coolant gets heated by the hot chip inside the channels, it bubbles and becomes a vapor, easing the cooling process. This new technology uses a hydrofluorocarbon as the cooling liquid. It is a dielectric and will not conduct electricity or cause short circuits. However hydroflurocarbons are not very efficient coolants and their heat conductivity is far lower than water. But they avoid electrical short circuits and are environmentally better than other coolants. They have low global-warming effects and are not harmful to the ozone layer in the earth’s atmosphere.

Is Renewable Energy Technology Really Available to Homeowners

With the rising energy costs and effects of global warming so prevalent today, many people are wondering if there is truth to the concept of renewable energy technology. There also appears to be confusion between alternative energy technology and renewable energy technology. Alternative energy encompasses all renewable energy sources, but includes things like nuclear power and energy from municipal waste. These are carbonaceous examples. Renewable energy technology focuses on energy that is replaced as it is being used, such as solar energy and wind energy.
With that clear, are there truly benefits on a home or small business level to renewable solar technology? Absolutely. Truthfully, by utilizing renewable energy technology on a home level you can save yourself thousands of dollars each year. Renewable energy technology has gained popularity in recent years and it has become increasingly easy to meet your home’s energy needs with just a little handyman work. With the information available about renewable energy technology, it is possible to build renewable energy products, such as a windmill or solar panel, on your own. Do-it-yourselfers are saving huge amounts of pocket change by building and installing these systems themselves. If you have the money to invest in a commercial professionally installed system, in general these are more efficient, however, savings can still be realized, and at a much faster rate, by researching and building your own renewable energy systems.
Renewable energy technology is advancing with each day. Solar electrical systems have advanced from giant roof panels to thin layers of film that are twice as conductive and work with less sunlight. There are now solar powered charges for cell phones, batteries and other small household items. Windmills have been made more aerodynamic for greater action and electricity generation. Renewable energy technology can even be seen along today’s highways as small solar/wind operation stations powering signs and lights.
Many homeowners today are looking into integrating green energy sources for developing more energy efficient homes and businesses. A green energy source is power generated through renewable resources, such as the sun, wind and water. The other benefit of green energy sources is their low contribution to global warming, pollution and other environmental issues.
The most popular of green energy sources is the sun. Energy captured from the sun is called solar energy. Of the green energy sources, solar energy is the most popular because it offers multiple options for use. It is possible to harness electrical energy from the sun using solar panels consisting of photovoltaic cells that convert energy from the sun into electricity you can use in your home or business. There are also solar hot water collectors that use the heat of the sun to produce hot water. These solar green energy sources are readily available and increasing in popularity as most homes and businesses can have them mounted on their roof and they can take advantage of lowered utility costs.
The most efficient of green energy sources is wind. Wind has been used to power water pumps for centuries, but has grown in popularity as a way to supplement home and business electricity needs. Wind is the safest and cleanest of the green energy sources as it produces no pollutants and does not contribute to global warming. Wind energy is harnessed by erecting a turbine that spins in the breeze generating electricity. Unlike the sun, which can be found almost anywhere, in order to utilize wind as a green energy source, you must live in an area where wind is readily available.
Water is also a viable participant of green energy sources. Water is less widely used as a green energy source for homes, as not all homes have an available stream to produce the needed electricity. The Amish have used water to power entire shops using conveyer belt systems, so it is an old practice, but it is still being used successfully today. As with solar and wind energy, energy harnessed from moving water is almost completely pollutant free and is generated from a renewable resource.

Technology Jobs That Will Survive in Weak Economic Times

Web developers, designers, animators, embedded systems, semiconductor, messaging specialists, and JAVA developers are likely to be in demand in 2009. The financial crisis is sending jitters all around the globe, especially to those who are looking for financial, marketing, factory and even technology jobs. Since many companies are affected by the credit crunch, employment opportunities will be scarce in the coming years. But even if many corporations have already started to cut jobs, people who work in the technology sector, particularly in information technology, should not be that worried. So, if you are one of the many who are seeking employment in the technology sector, below are some jobs that will not be very much affected by the economic problems. Many experts believe that information technology jobs are not going to be dramatically affected by the financial problems that are facing many companies. In fact, there might even be increased work opportunities in this sector, as companies will be looking for ways to enhance efficiency when it comes to data storage, quality assurance, and other IT services. However, the future may not look as rosy for chief information officers and other senior managers in the IT industry. If you are holding such position, you might experience either a pay cut or termination due to redundancies in your job. Some of the information technology jobs that will remain robust despite the credit crunch are in computer programming, testing and systems analysis, IT services, and technology development sectors. Remember that positions in such sectors will be available not only in IT companies but even in corporations in other industries. Keep in mind that almost every business relies on computers and digital technology. So, it is quite impossible for a company to simply close its IT department just to save on money. Therefore, networking engineers, IT administrators, PC support technicians, technical support professionals and computer programmers need not worry about their jobs for now. Technology jobs that are linked to the Internet are also not very much affected by the economic crisis. In fact, many believe that the demand for Internet professionals will be increasing exponentially as more and more companies will rely on the World Wide Web for cost-efficient ways to market and sell their services and products. Web developers, designers, animators, embedded systems, semiconductor, messaging specialists, and JAVA developers are just some of the positions that may be available next year. To view exiting job openings in these fields be sure to visit technology job boards like Tech Career Direct. Moreover, there are other positions in the IT industry that may be holding less technical job descriptions but will also be in demand next year. These job positions include customer support, consultancy, marketing, and sales.
